Melania Trump, Fauci to appear in PSAs on coronavirus

First Lady Melania Trump will take part in an extensive, collaborative campaign partnering the White House with multiple major media corporations to raise awareness about coronavirus.

The Trump administration announced Wednesday that the first lady, along with Dr. Anthony Fauci and other White House officials will appear in PSAs that will “communicate the most important ways Americans can protect themselves and those most at risk.”

Those PSAs will be broadcasted across platforms owned and operated by NBCUniversal, ViacomCBS, iHeartMedia and ABC/Walt Disney Television.

Nickelodeon — owned by ViacomCBS — will develop child-friendly PSA content and ABC/Walt Disney — the owner of myriad of networks and programs for children — will promote “priority messaging” for parents and families.

The announcement said that ViacomCBS is leveraging its youth brands, led by MTV, Comedy Central, Paramount Network, CMT and VH1 to launch #AloneTogether, a campaign promoting “the importance of social distancing and drives unity through entertainment.”

The PSAs will direct its audiences to visit coronavirus.gov, which will serve as a centralized resource offering up-to-date news on the crisis.
