Michael Caine grips wife Shakira's hand as couple leave posh dinner in London

MICHAEL Caine enjoyed a posh romantic dinner with wife Shakira on Wednesday.

Acting legend Sir Michael, 86, was pictured leaving celeb-favourite Scott's in London's Mayfair hand-in-hand with his spouse of 46 years.

The couple will have tucked into some of the restaurant's pricey seafood – with a John Dory fillet costing £38 and caviar up to £320.

He is still having to use a walking stick after a nasty fall on ice last year left him with an ankle injury.

A spokesman for the actor said at the time: "Michael slipped and broke his ankle in his garden during the recent heavy snow.

"He is in fine health and great spirits."

Updating fans on his injury in March 2018, he told Time Out: "It’s coming along fine. It’s just a tremendous inconvenience."

Last month, the Zulu star revealed he first saw his future missus Shakira, nee Baksh, when she appeared in a coffee ad.

He told Andrew Denton's Interview: "I was at home and this commercial came on for Maxwell House coffee.

"And there was this beautiful Brazilian girl.

"I said to my mate 'we're going to Brazil tomorrow – I have plenty of money, we're going to find her.'"

It later emerged that Shakira lived just a mile from him on the Fulham Road in West London.

The acting couple – who wed in 1973 – have one daughter together, Natasha, 42.

Sir Michael has previously told how his wife's beauty is behind their enduring marriage.

He said: "In this business, you're surrounded by beautiful women – but I've got one at home.

"I've got one of the most beautiful ones I've ever seen, so I've never been tempted to stray."
