Drakeo the Ruler was killed in Los Angeles late Saturday night after being stabbed with a knife during an altercation near the Banc of California Stadium.

He was set to rap during the Once Upon a Time in L.A. concert with other performers, including Snoop Dogg and 50 Cent.

The rapper had just celebrated his 28th birthday on December 1st.

Paramedics arrived to the scene around 8:40 p.m. A representative for the rapper confirmed with Rolling Stone that it was, in fact, Drakeo the Ruler who had been stabbed.

He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and passed away as a result of his injury.

The LA Police Department confirmed that the star suffered severe stab wounds to the neck after he was set upon in an area off stage by a “group of people."

No arrests have been made, according to The Los Angeles Times, so far.

The concert was cancelled out of respect to the rapper's death and due to the need for further investigation.

Who was Drakeo the Ruler?

Drakeo the Ruler's real name was Darrell Caldwell.

He was an American rapper from Los Angeles, best known for his studio album, The Truth Hurts, released this year.

He was raised in Los Angeles and attended Washington High School in Westmont.

He was reportedly single at the time, although he does have a son who's mother is unknown to the public.

Drakeo the Ruler enjoyed keeping his personal life private.

What was Drakeo the Ruler's net worth?

The American rapper and songwriter was worth nearly $400 thousand.

After Drakeo the Ruler's first mixtape, I Am Mr. Mosely, in 2015, he built a large discography including his debut album, The Truth Hurts, released this past February and his mixtape, So Cold I Do Em 2, released on December 7th.

Earlier on in the year, Drakeo the Ruler had collaborated with Drake, on the single, Talk to Me.

Drake wrote on his Instagram story on Sunday, “Nah man this sh** isn’t right for real wtf are we doing. Always picked my spirit up with your energy. RIP Drakeo.”
